Who are we?

The Critical Sport Network consists of organising groups in both Taiwan and the UK.

The Taiwan group consists of Tzu-hsuan Chen of the National Taiwan Sport University (NTSU), Dong-Jhy Hwang (also NTSU) and Ying Chiang (Chihlee University of Technology).

The UK group consists of Dominic Malcolm of Loughborough University (LU), Alan Bairner (also LU) and Ali Bowes (Nottingham Trent University). Dominic Malcolm is the current Editor of the International Review for the Sociology of Sport, and his research focuses on issues related to sport, health and medicine. Alan Bairner is Professor of Sport and Social Theory and his research focuses on sport and politics and nationalism in particular. Ali Bowes is senior lecturer in the sociology of sport and her research provides sociocultural explorations of women in elite/professional sport.
